New Jersey-Based Media Professional Honored on National PR News’ Top Women in PR List
Cheryl McCants, president and CEO of Impact Consulting Enterprises, one of 82 ‘most influential’ women in public relations

 

January 24, 2017 – New York, NY – Cheryl McCants, president and CEO of Impact Consulting Enterprises, announced today that PR News has recognized her as one of the most influential women in public relations.  The announcement came during an awards ceremony and luncheon held in New York City.  PR News’ Annual Top Women in PR list included Cheryl and 81 other female public relations experts.

 

PR News is one of the world’s foremost trade publications and media brands. As such, the most influential women working in public relations make the annual Top Women in PR list. These women have made bold advances in managing crises, developing brand messages, protecting and building brand reputations and creating content for digital platforms.

 

“I am honored to be recognized by PR News as one of the most influential women in the public relations space,” said Cheryl McCants, Impact Consulting Enterprises president and CEO. “Having spent more than 25 years telling people, companies and organizations’ stories, I am thrilled to have PR News tell mine.” When asked, ‘what career advice would you give your 20-year-old self?’ Cheryl replied, “My advice to my 20-year-old self would be to judge your work by the impact of its efforts. Stay focused on the good that you can do for others, and you will surely do good for yourself.”

Top Women in PR

The ceremony celebrated 82 national honorees selected from a larger pool of nominees. Cheryl, fluent in both Spanish and English, is a 2016 ‘Top 25 Leading Woman Entrepreneur’ and a cohort of the 2012 ‘America’s Leaders of Change.’

Time Warner and Essence Magazine also honored Cheryl as a Power Leader in the African-American community. In addition to founding and leading Impact since 1989, Cheryl worked on the corporate side of the business. She guided the communication and marketing departments of Fortune 100 companies and national organizations like AT&T, Nike and Girl Scouts of the USA.

 

Cheryl believes in community and in giving back. This New Jersey native serves on the boards of the Rutgers Business School’s Entrepreneurship Pioneers Initiative and the Newark Regional Business Partnership (NRBP). Additionally, she is an executive member of the Women’s Leadership Council for United Way of Essex and West Hudson. Cheryl is actively involved in the NYC chapter of the Women Business Enterprise National Council. She supports aspiring business owners through Impact’s internship programs and her involvement with the NRBP Young Entrepreneurs Academy. And, at St. Paul Baptist Church in Montclair this choir member engages local leaders, residents and elected officials as a member of “Operation Just Hope.”
