Newark Celebration 350 Restores Historic Gutzon Borglum Monument at NJPAC
Landing monument is one of three Legacy Gifts to be bestowed on the City
As the yearlong festivities celebrating Newark’s 350th anniversary draw to a close, Newark Celebration 350 (NC350) will present a trio of Legacy Gifts to the City. These gifts include the restoration of the First Landing Party of the Founders of Newark (1916) Monument – one of Newark’s unique, unsung artistic treasures – which has been out of the public eye for at least a decade. The NC350 team carefully restored the monument for installation on Symphony Lawn, next to the Light Rail station on the NJPAC campus. The committee will also announce their “Newark College Student Success Fund” and “Plant 350 Trees” initiatives at this special ceremony.
